Single Leg Box Squat

January 7, 2016

EXERCISE OF THE DAY: SINGLE LEG BOX SQUAT @justinsorbo Single leg exercises are absolutely essential to be strong and move well. The single leg box squat, or box pistol; is a fantastic way to begin to train single leg strength and stability. You will need sufficient ankle dorsiflexion, as well as hip mobility and core stability. Place a bench or plyometric box behind you. Start at about the height where the top of your thighs are parallel to the floor while sitting on the bench. To initiate the movement, Make sure you get a posterior weight shift before you let your knee bend. Don't be afraid to let your knees go over your toes! You'll need the knee to travel sufficiently forward to get deeper. As always, ribs down and stay tight! If your spine is flexing forward, raise the box a bit. Have fun! @chcoaching @ryanwysocki_57 @uppercut37 @justinsorbo #boxsquat #prehab #rehab #coach #physicaltherapy #pt #gymlife #crossfit #progression #regression #core #shesquat #goals #newyear #evolvefitness #movement #idoportal #balance #ankle #foot #quads #hamstrings #datass #glutes #eotd #exerciseoftheday #instafit
